Less Wishing, More Dreaming

A dream is little more than a wish until we decide to take action. Until we bravely stand up and say to ourselves that we can achieve this, it is just a bit of imagination. Without our actions to bring it forth a dream is nothing more than a figment of our imaginations.

Without the dreamer our dreams remain where they can never be seen, never be touched, never be experienced. The number one place that dreams perish is imprisoned inside our own heads, never acted upon, never brought into the light. It is a brave thing to chase a dream, to journey through the imagination. We who answer the call of the dream will not have an easy road, nor will our dreams come into our world without a lot of effort and time.

Even knowing that the road towards our dreams is full of unexpected surprises and challenges. We sacrifice our time, our skills towards accomplishing something that is often met with skepticism. Doubt. This world is oddly uncomfortable for a new dream. It’s different. It’s new. We are told we don’t have the skills. Don’t quit our day jobs. Sometimes we must have faith in ourselves because we are the only one’s who are willing to. The dreamer takes the arrows, the sticks, the stones that the outside world hurls towards their dreams. The dreamer shields it with their bodies, protects it from destruction until the dream is ready. Then comes the hard part.

Revealing your dream to the outside world is like taking a small part of your soul and putting it on display for everyone to see. Dreams are built from our hearts, our passions. It makes sense that we would have a part of ourselves wrapped up in there. A small part of our own beauty and time. For the artist revealing a new book, a new painting or a new song, the first public showing can often feel like standing in front of a crowded room naked. Yet if we keep our work to ourselves what good is it to anyone? If we don’t tell our stories who will? If we want to paint, or sing, or bake, it has to be the dreamer who takes action. Someone else is not going to do it for us.

This world is full of dreamers. They are just to busy being asleep. Our dreams will never come true unless we decide to wake up and take action.Little by little. Brick by brick. We build our dreams from nothing, just like I spoke of when accomplishing our goals we plan out our path. We measure our talents and apply our skills. We take action, even if it a little bit, day by day. Dreamers are builders. We dare to go places others fear. We don’t settle for the mundane. We bridge the gap between the real world and the imagination. We wrestle our dreams into this mortal plane with our passion, our talents and skills and hope it will be enough. Won’t you dare to dream with us?
