Just Chillin'

Hello from Georgia! Yes, the vacations don't stop, I just keep on having fun! This weekend was spent in sunny Georgia visiting my wonderful friends. I am in high spirits and running low on sleep but I wouldn't have it any other way. Well actually that's a lie. This trip is actually two micro vacations rolled into one, I spent two(ish) days in Columbus, Ga to visit my old college roommate and his wife. Then I traveled up to Canton, Ga to visit with my friends from the pizza place for the remaining two(ish) days. It has been a lot of fun so far but I so wish this were a longer trip so I could spend more time down here. That is the one thing I would change about this trip, the good food, good conversations, minor inspirations, good vibes and of course the excellent company I wouldn't change at all!

When I go on these trips to see friends I usually get asked the same question over and over again. “What do you want to do?” For me this is a tricky question because there really is nothing I want to do aside from hang out with those I care about. I don't come down to Georgia to enjoy the mosquitoes or Six Flags, I don't need to see the aquarium or the Olympic park, I just need the company of my friends. So far I have done absolutely nothing but enjoy the company of these fine folks and it's been great!

Right now it's storming outside, rain, thunder, lightning...and is that hail? No. Ok. It's perfect weather just sitting around and catching up on old times. Besides I really enjoy thunderstorms, except that it limits my computer to battery power which is only a minor quibble. It's rained a lot this weekend but it's kept the heat down low which has been a big plus.

I had thought that going on two weekend trips back to back would be really relaxing and fun. Don't get me wrong I am both relaxed and having fun but I am so very tired right now. At lunch, after I arrived here in Canton, I could tell that I was having trouble just staying focused on the conversation (and not because of all the pretty girls). If I am going to make it through the night and be coherent I am going to have to take a little nap.

It's funny, I am looking forward to being home next weekend. I can spend a little time finally catching up on work and getting to know Modnation Racers and Red Dead Redemption, both of which are virtually untouched still. Looking back it has been a whirlwind of a month, I moved to a new place, started editing at work (this is a very good thing), took two trips and have been busy working on my writing, reading and side projects. To be honest it will be nice to spend a little time at home, to gather my internal resources again and begin working towards that brighter tomorrow. Right now though? I will revel in the generosity of my friends and enjoy the good times and the memories we are creating, here today. Thanks to all of you who I got to visit this past weekend, I hope I can see the rest of you soon! Until we meet again! Sayonara.
