Change is Coming

Well it has been a blustery, stormy evening here and it is fitting because this week has seen a bunch of activity. First the most important and noticeable things! The new CMS system is up and being tested on the servers right now, hence the reason for the welcome screen. Actually that screen is the CMS system, the link you clicked to get here actually took you out of my site. Throughout the week I will begin finalizing the design and transferring the content into the database. Then you know what? Comments will finally be available! Yes at long last, after months of waiting at last commenting is just a few more days away, I hope to have everything up and working before next Sundays post.

In related news you may or may not have noticed that there is a new address for the site as well. From this point on my blogs, photos, videos and travelogues will live at DreamAnvil.com (you don't need to capitalize it, just makes it easier to read). DreamAnvil resides in the same directory as the old site so for the next year or so (since I own both domain names for that duration) the link to the old site will still work. The name was changed for two reasons, one is that the old name was a security issue and as the site became more popular it was beginning to be an issue. It's also a rather odd name for a site that is beginning to focus on its community instead of its creator. Reason number two is that I would like the focus of the blogs to turn to a more inspirational focus, especial with the Special Topics blogs. I would like this site to be a source of inspiration for others to reach out and forge their own dreams, hence the name. While I may not know exactly how I am going to achieve that goal it is what I am aiming for and any input from my wonderful readers would be appreciated.

In other news, aside from finishing up a bunch of training on Drupal, Illustrator and Photoshop this week, I have landed a job interview! Usually this would be reason to celebrate but it's an interview for the job I am currently doing. Read that carefully, it's not a job for another position similar to the one I do now. No, it's literally the very job I am working right now. I think I might be qualified for the role, you think? Tuesday will hopefully bring some resolve to the seemingly never ending job situation, the light at the end of the tunnel. For good or for bad I am really looking forward to finally just having an answer.

Last week I put the finishing touches on the apartment, this week I assembled the final pieces I needed to install and prepare the new site and next week brings news about my job. All in all it feels like the ship is beginning to right itself and I can begin to look towards the future instead of being mired in rapids. There is still a lot of work to do yet before I can relax but all in all I am satisfied with the progress.

What will next week bring? Well for starters another Special Topics Post, a review of the Karate Kid and of course comments! Aside from that, who knows?! Until next time, sayonara.
